Join us for an intensive week of Bulgarian folk singing with one of Bulgaria’s most beloved and internationally acclaimed folklore artists, Neli Andreeva.
Limited to just five participants, this immersive masterclass offers a rare opportunity to work closely with Neli in a small-group setting, receiving daily individual coaching while also learning from the lessons of others.

About the Masterclass:
Each participant receives a private lesson every day with Neli. Lessons focus on vocal technique, authentic ornamentation, style, phrasing, and interpretation, with repertoire carefully selected to suit each singer’s individual voice and artistic development.
A defining feature of the masterclass is that all participants attend all lessons. This creates a rich learning environment where everyone benefits not only from their own coaching, but also from observing Neli’s work with other singers. Participants should therefore feel comfortable singing and learning in front of others, as this shared process is at the heart of the masterclass experience.
Evening sessions are dedicated to group singing, exploring the distinctive harmonies and vocal traditions of Bulgaria through carefully chosen repertoire from various ethnographic regions.
What to Expect:
Five 45-min private lessons tailored to your individual voice and skill level
Daily group singing sessions, exploring characteristic Bulgarian harmonies and repertoire ( 9 hours in total!)
Personalised song choices to expand your vocal repertoire and challenge your abilities
Engaging warm-up exercises to prepare for each day’s lessons
Opportunities to audit the lessons of fellow participants and learn from each other’s experiences
Dedicated time for individual learning and practice
Final performance of the learned repertoire in the local communities (plans in motion, stay tuned!)
Included in the fee:
7 nights of accommodation in a picturesque setting (each participant get a private room with a private bathroom)
Full board with three delicious meals per day featuring locally sourced ingredients
Transportation between Sofia and the workshop location
Outings to explore the natural beauty of the Bulgarian countryside, including walks in nature
Language: Lessons will be conducted in Bulgarian, with simultaneous translation provided by organiser Yana Vlaeva.
